Listening
Students progress through sets of recordings and questions that adapt to their ability.
Their performance on earlier sets determines which set of recordings they will hear next; subsequent sets are similarly based on candidates’ performance.
Reading
Students progress through sets of texts and questions that adapt to their ability. Performance on the first set of texts determines which text they will see next, with each subsequent set adjusting based on their previous performance
Writing
Students arrange 9 scrambled sentences to form grammatically correct sentences.
Candidates are assessed on their ability to organize sentences logically and grammatically.
Speaking
Students hear 9 statements or questions, each followed by three possible responses. They choose the best response, presented both audibly and in writing.
Candidates are assessed on their comprehension and selection of the most contextually appropriate response.

Test-takers receive an official certificate along with a detailed score report that includes a breakdown of each assessed skill according to the CEFR. The report also features:
- “Can Do” statements to show practical language use
- Areas of improvement to guide further development
Results are delivered immediately or within 48 hours if a human review is needed.
This ensures test-takers receive clear, actionable feedback to help them track their progress.
VTest can be taken anytime, anywhere, and on any device with an internet connection. While it’s accessible on all devices, we recommend taking the test on a tablet or computer for the best experience and functionality.
VTest might take between 20 to 140 minutes, depending on the specific exam, the student’s proficiency level and the number of skills being assessed.
The test is a multi-stage adaptive assessment designed to measure proficiency across levels from beginner (Pre-A1) to advanced (C2). The duration adjusts as the test adapts to your ability.
Lessons are held online, with live teachers, in small groups of students organized by level. In addition to lessons, students have access to the Burlington English software 24/7.
You can schedule your lessons on the day and time you prefer.
Each group consists of a maximum of 10 people, grouped by level.
